Editing a drill-through definition to a report

You can modify drill-through definitions in a visualization.

About this task

You can modify the drill-through definition in a visualization in the following ways:

  • Change the title of the drill-through definition. By default, the target report name is used as the drill-through definition title.
  • Assign different columns from the visualization to the target.
  • Add another drill-through definition.
  • Delete the drill-through definition.

Procedure

  1. Select the visualization that uses a drill-through definition that you want to edit.
  2. Click the Drill-through icon Drill-through icon in the toolbar.
  3. Click Manage.
If you don't see the Manage link, click the Edit icon Switch to edit icon.
  4. To edit the drill-through definition title, or to assign different columns from the visualization to the target, click the Edit icon Edit icon beside the title of the target.
    1. In the dialog box that appears, to edit the name of the drill-through definition, place your cursor beside the title and click the Edit icon Edit icon that appears.
    2. To assign a different column from the visualization to the drill-through target, select a different column from the data column list.
    3. From the Filter by mapping state drop-down menu, filter through the list of parameter mappings in the drill-through definition. Select Broken to quickly identify parameters with mapping errors that need to be updated.
When filtering through the list of parameters, consider the following:
      • When a parameter name is changed in a report, both the old and new name might be present in the report specification, even though only one name is currently in use. Both parameters appear on the list, but only the parameter in use needs to be mapped.
      • If a parameter is optional, or prompting is desirable, you can leave the parameter in the Unmapped state.
      • If a broken parameter is not mapped, and the drill-through definition is saved and then re-opened, the parameter will appear as Unmapped. This is the expected behavior.
    4. To add another drill-through target report, click Add another drill-through definition.
  5. To delete the drill-through definition, click the Delete icon Delete drill-through icon beside the name of its target.
  6. Click OK and click Apply.
