Installing and configuring Satellite Connector Agent in Docker

Instead of using the IBM installer to install Satellite Connector Agent, you can install a Docker image that contains the agent.

Note: If you are viewing the Add Agent page on the wizard, but already installed the agent, do the following:
  1. Select I have already installed the Agent and click Next.
  2. Proceed to Adding a destination database.

Ensure that the minimum requirements for both your computer and your network are met.

About this task

Install Satellite Connector Agent into your IT environment where your corporate security policy allows. This would typically be in a protected yellow zone or DMZ where your company can institute the appropriate security controls to protect on-premises assets. Always follow your corporate security policies and instructions when you install Satellite Connector Agent.

Procedure

  1. If you haven't done it yet, create a Satellite Connector instance.
    The following page appears while you are still in the wizard:
  2. If you previously created a connector instance but did not install the agent from the wizard:
    1. Click Manage > Satellite Connector
    2. Click your Satellite Connector in the list.
    3. At the end of the row for your connector, click the Action menu Action menu icon icon, and then click Download client.
  3. Select Docker in the Satellite Connector Agent pane.
    A page similar to the following appears:
  4. Follow the steps that appear in the Docker pane.
  5. If you downloaded the client from the wizard, click Next.
  6. If you downloaded the client from the Properties menu, click Done,

Results

Satellite Connector Agent is installed and configured and the Satellite Connector service is running.
