List

Use a list to create a hierarchical overview of data.

You can use a list visualization as a filter widget.

The following image shows an example of using a list as a filter widget.

This example shows how to use a list as a filter widget to highlight Location Type Rural and Gender Female in bar visualization that presents Income by Location Type and in column visualization that presents Total Claim Amount by Gender.

To re-create this example of using a list as a filter widget for other visualizations, perform the following steps:
  1. From a dashboard, click the Visualizations icon and in the System tab of the Visualizations pane, select List.
  2. Click the Select a source button in the Data pane, and in the Select a source window go to Samples/By industry/Insurance/Data. Select the Customer analysis data module and click Add.
  3. Drag the Location Type and Gender data sets onto the Level one field.
  4. Click the Visualizations icon and in the Visualizations > System pane, select Bar.
  5. Drag the following data sets onto the indicated fields in bar visualization:
    • Location Type onto the Bars field.
    • Income onto the Length field.
  6. Click the Visualizations icon and in the Visualizations > System pane, select Column.
  7. Drag the following data sets onto the indicated fields in column visualization:
    • Gender onto the Bars field.
