Properties for all version 11.0 visualizations in Reporting

Set the properties for each version 11.0 visualizations, including font, line width, and size.

Conditional

Property	Explanation
Render variable	Add conditional rendering to specify which objects are rendered when a report is run. This is useful when your report contains sensitive data. For more information, see Add conditional rendering.

Data

Property	Explanation
Data format	Format data in a report to improve readability. For example, you can show all date values in the order year, month, and day. For more information, see Format data.

General

Property	Explanation
Type	Shows the visualization type. This property also shows the visualization ID. which represents the visualization bundle name.
Autochart	With this option you can determine whether Cognos Analytics provides a suggested visualization that is based on your data.

Miscellaneous

Property	Explanation
Name	Specifies a unique name that allows layout objects to be reused, usually to take advantage of the applied styling.
Alternate text	You can add alternate text charts to make your reports accessible. When a screen reader encounters one of these objects, it reads the alternate text that you added to the object. For more information, see Add Alternate Text to Images and Charts.

Common

Property	Explanation
Background color	Sets the background color of the visualization.
Elements background color	Sets the background color of the elements in the visualization.
Color palette	The color palette that controls the colors or patterns that are applied to the data elements in the chart.
Optimize visualization size	Hides certain aspects of the visualization if the size is limited, to maximize the space that is available to display data.
Padding	The padding around the chart and legend. Use one of the following units: px % in cm mm pt pc em ex
Configuration	The configuration that is used to plot the data. Use one of the following options: Simple Stacked Stacked 100% Stream
Width, Height	You can set the size of your visualization, in pixels.

X axis

Property	Explanation
Show grid lines	Shows or hides the X-axis grid lines.
Grid line color	The color of the X-axis grid line.
Grid line dash pattern	The pattern that is applied to the X-axis grid lines. Use one of the following options: Dot Dash Long dash Dot dash
Show labels	Shows or hides the X-axis labels.
Label font	The font properties of the X-axis labels (CSS styles)
Show line	Shows or hides the X-axis line.
Line color	The color of the X-axis line.
Show ticks	Shows or hides the X-axis tick marks.
Tick color	The color of the X-axis ticks.
Show title	Shows or hides the X-axis title.
Title font	The X-axis title font properties (CSS styles).
Title	The title of the X-axis.

Y axis

Property	Explanation

Property	Explanation
Show legend	Shows or hides the legend.
Legend position	The position of the legend in the visualization.
Space between legend and chart	Space between the chart and the legend, as as CSS size or percentage. Use one of the following units: px % in cm mm pt pc em ex
Align legend to chart	Whether to align the legend to the interior of the chart.
Title	The title of the legend.
Title font	The font to use for the legend title.
Entry font	The font properties of the legend entry.
