Suppressing null values in a crosstab or table

If you are using an OLAP package, you can suppress null cells in your tables and crosstabs.

About this task

Null suppression is enabled by default. When null suppression is enabled and an entire row or column contains all null values, the row or column is not displayed. When only some cells in your visualization are null, individual null cell values are displayed as (no value). When null suppression is turned off, null cell values are displayed as (null).

Procedure

  1. Click the table or crosstab that contains null values.
  2. Click the Properties icon Properties icon.

If you don't see the Properties icon, click the Switch to edit icon Edit or preview icon.

  3. In the Visualization tab, under Chart, select the Suppression toggle to enable or disable the setting.
Note: Alternatively, click the table or chart and click the Suppression icon Suppression icon in the toolbar.
