Enable and disable scheduling

If you are an IBM® Cognos® Analytics Client Hosted administrator, you can enable or disable a user's ability to schedule notifications in Cognos Analytics for Mobile.

Scheduling allows your users to enable push notifications in Cognos Analytics for Mobile and to define when they receive push notifications. For more information, see Defining notification settings for your boards. By default, scheduling is enabled for all users.

Access the scheduling permissions lists

You can view the scheduling permissions lists to see which users or user groups can set their own schedules for push notifications. The following schedule types are supported in Cognos Analytics for Mobile:
  • Schedule by day
  • Schedule by hour
  • Schedule by minute
  • Schedule by week
  1. Open Cognos Analytics.
  2. Click Manage > People > Capabilities.
  3. Locate the schedule type that you want to access the permissions list for.
  4. Click the ellipsis Ellipsis icon to open the context menu.
  5. Click Customize access to open the permissions list.
Note: If all of the supported schedule types are disabled, the Notifications settings Notification settings icon icon is not displayed to the user. Schedule types that are disabled will not appear to the user.

Add or remove a user or user group

You can manage which users or user groups have permissions to set their own push notifications schedules by adding or removing them from the permissions list.

  1. From the permissions list, click Add member Add member icon.
  2. Click the namespace that contains the user or user group that you want to add.
  3. Select the users or user groups that you want to add.
  4. Click Add.

To remove a user or user group, click Remove member in the permissions list.

Manage access permissions

You can define the permission levels for each user or user group in the list.

  1. From the access list, click the Access tab.
  2. Locate the user or user group that you want to change access permissions for.
  3. Click the drop down menu next to the user or user group.
  4. Select the permission type for the user or user group.
