You can change the visualization type or change the columns that are used in the visualization.

Using a different visualization type
Visualizations communicate comparisons, relationships, and trends. They emphasize and clarify numbers. To choose a visualization type, consider what you want the visualization to illustrate and what will appeal to the audience for the visualization.
Insights in visualizations
IBM Cognos Analytics provides analytic insights that help you to detect and validate important relationships and meaningful differences based on the data that is presented by the visualization.

Logarithmic scale
Logarithmic scales are useful when the data you are displaying is much less or much more than the rest of the data or when the percentage differences between values are important.

Hides certain aspects of the visualization if the size is limited, to maximize the space that is available to display data.
Creating custom data groups
You can organize column data into custom groups so that the data is easier to read and analyze. Create custom data groups directly in a dashboard without having to open the data modeling component.
Showing or hiding rows and columns in a crosstab
Show or hide individual rows and columns in a crosstab and maintain the correct values in the Summary cells.
Showing data as points in a visualization
Use the Points data slot to show the data for each of the values in a column as a point in the visualization.

If you are using an OLAP package, you can suppress null cells in your tables and crosstabs.

Setting a timer to automatically refresh a visualization
You can set a timer in individual visualizations to seconds, minutes, or hours to indicate how often you want the item to automatically refresh.

Relative date analysis
The relative date feature makes it easier to do as-of-date analysis. For example, you can quickly add year-to-date or previous month values to a data container, such as a visualization, cross tab, list, and so on.
Matching color palettes on multiple visualizations
When multiple items on the canvas share a category or value, you can use the Color consistency setting to automatically adjust the visualization colors to match each other.
