Properties for individual 11.1 visualizations in Reporting

Set the properties for each version 11.1 visualizations, including font, line width, and size. Many visualizations have their own specific properties that control specific behavior of the visualization.

Area (River, Area, Smooth area, Stepped area)

Property Explanation
Transpose When enabled, the Y-axis shows the independent scale and the X-axis shows the dependent scale.
Area opacity The opacity of the colored area. The value must be between 0 (fully transparent) and 1 (fully opaque).
Area border width The width of the area border. Use one of the following units:

Area border color The color of the area border.
Baselines Baselines are horizontal or vertical lines that cut through the chart to indicate major divisions in the data.

Value axis logarithmic scaling Logarithmic scales are useful when the data you are displaying is much less or much more than the rest of the data or when the percentage differences between values are important.
Value axis maximum value The maximum value of the value axis.
Value axis minimum value The minimum value of the value axis.
Value axis tick interval Interval between ticks on value axis.

Box plot

Property Explanation

Extreme outlier fill color The fill color that is applied to the box plot extreme outliers.
Extreme outlier stroke color The color of the stroke for extreme outliers.

Enable layer control Displays a control that allows toggling the visibility of data layers.
Show map labels Controls if labels, like country and city names are shown on the map.
Enable search control Enables search for recognized features or locations on maps.

The radius of the donut. 0 means the donut size is 0 (empty chart). 0.5 shows a half pie chart (donut). 1 shows a full pie chart.

Label location

Call out: The label location is on the outside of the slices with a call out.

Schematic

Property Explanation
Missing value color The color that is applied to missing values.

If you use a dataset and the region slot is populated, all associated elements in the SVG have a fill with a color as defined in the property Missing value color.

Highlight regions Displays all regions that IBM® Cognos Analytics can map.

For example, the SVG element has an attribute data-cv-key with a value that contains a key. When turned on, all mappable elements receive a fill with a color as defined in the property Missing value color. All non-mappable items have an opacity applied.

Zoom to view Specifies whether a view selection is zoomed when selected.
SVG reference Specifies the SVG to use in the visualization.
View transparency Defines the transparency of unselected views.
Enable view control Toggles the View selection UI.
Enable layer control Toggles the Layer selection UI.

Dial (Radial)

Property Explanation
Back ring color The default color of the back ring.
Rounded dial ends. When enabled, the dial ends are rounded.
Start angle of dial The angle the dials start at, in degrees. For example, 0 is the top, and 180 is the bottom.
Padding between dials The padding between the dials. Use one of the following units:

Treemap visualizations support the following display modes:
  • Squarified: The default display mode.
  • Slice: Displays measures that belong to the same node in a vertically sliced way.
  • Dice: Displays measures that belong to the same node in a horizontally sliced way.
  • Slice - Dice: Displays stacked hierarchical measures that belong to the same node in a vertically sliced way.

    The following screen capture displays a treemap with the Organization and Department measures on the Area hierarchy field, and Expense total on the Size field.
