Updating a printer

Before you begin

You must be a system administrator to update a printer.

About this task

Follow these steps to update a printer:

Procedure

  1. Select and expand the library server.
  2. Select Printers.
  3. In the Name list, right-click the server printer that you want to update.
  4. From the pop-up menu, select Update to open the Update a Printer window.
  5. On the General page, you can change the Name, Description, Server Queue Name, and Printer Type fields. For example, you can change the name of the server print manager print queue that is associated with the printer by typing over the information in the Server Queue Name field.
  6. On the Permissions page, you can give users and groups access to the printer or remove users and groups from the printer's access list.
  7. When you have completed making changes, click OK to update the printer. Click Cancel to close the Update a Printer window without updating the printer.
