How Content Manager OnDemand searches folders

Content Manager OnDemand provides search fields for the folder name and description, a selection list of users and groups with choices for permissions, a selection list for application groups and a selection of applications in folders.

You can use the search command to list the folders that contain the values that you type in the Folder Name and Description search fields. You can list the Folders that reference a particular application group. You can search for the folders a selected user or group can access with specific permissions. You can list the folders that include a particular application.

Content Manager OnDemand ANDs the search criteria that you provide for the Folder Name, Description and the User, Group, Application or Application Group. That is, to find a match, the folder must meet all of the criteria that you provide.

To locate folders using selections in the Permissions group, the user or group must have the exact permissions specified. For example, if you choose the Access permission, Content Manager OnDemand does not list the folders to which the user or group might have the Fields or Administrator permission. If you select a user or group name and do not specify any permissions, Content Manager OnDemand lists the folders that the user or group is not authorized to access.

You can use the percent ( %) character as a search wildcard with the Like operator. Place the percent character at the beginning of a string. Content Manager OnDemand finds a match when the search string is contained within the target. For example, if you type %NEW in the Folder Name field, Content Manager OnDemand lists folders that contain the characters NEW, such as NEW, NEWFOLDER, and MACNEWTON. Content Manager OnDemand always places a wildcard at the end of the search string.
