Application group field definition
The Field Definition page is where you add database fields to the application group. The names that you specify for the database fields are some what arbitrary, however, they must meet the naming conventions of your database manager product and they should be the same as the index field names used by the applications that belong to the application group. After you define the database fields, specify the characteristics of the fields and choose a data type for each field on the Field Information page.
You must add at least one database field. You must add at least one database field to hold a date or date/time value. You must add one database field for each index field that is used by the applications that belong to the application group. You can optionally define database fields to hold index information that supports special types of queries, such as restricting a query to a specific application or segment of application group data. If you plan to put more than one application in the application group, then you must define a field that identifies the applications in the application group. You can add up to 128 database fields to an application group. See database fields that you might need to define for more information.
