Defining an application ID field

About this task

Follow these steps to define an application ID field. After an application ID field has been defined, it cannot be changed.

Procedure

  1. In the Name list, select the field that identifies an application within the application group. The field must be a String field. IBM recommends that the field length not exceed two bytes.
  2. Select the Application ID Field checkbox.
  3. In the Database Value field, type a code or other identifier for the application. For example, 01, DBR, and so forth. Content Manager OnDemand stores the code in the database and uses it to identify the records that belong to an application.
  4. In the Displayed Value field, type a value that your users can use to identify the application. For example, Daily Business Register. When a user searches the application group, by default, Content Manager OnDemand lists the identifier in the search field.
  5. Click Add. Content Manager OnDemand places the values in the Displayed Value/Database Value list.
  6. Repeat steps 1 through 5 to identify additional applications within the application group.
