Creating a data distribution file - overview

To build a data distribution image, a data distribution file (or the data distribution files contained in a data distribution group) must identify:

• At least one user authorized to log on to the local server and access documents stored in the data distribution image
• A named query to retrieve documents from the library server or a folder to load files
• A client program to access the local server
• A label template file to print a label on the data distribution media

Groups are optional, unless users obtain permissions from a group. Then you must add the group to the Groups section.

If you plan to include user-defined files in the data distribution image (such as a README file), you must add the files to the User Supplied Files section.

If the data you plan to distribute requires customized font mappings, you should add the font and code page files to the Customized Font Mappings section.
