Object size (K)
The size of a storage object, in kilobytes.
By default, Content Manager OnDemand segments and compresses report data into 10 MB storage objects. IBM recommends that you use the default value. For example, Content Manager OnDemand can load 10 MB of data to an optical storage volume in approximately one minute.
You can change the size of a storage object by replacing the contents of the field with a whole number between 1 (one) and 99999. That is, a value between 1 KB and approximately 100 MB. However, use caution when changing the default value. Specifying too large or too small a value can adversely affect data loading performance.
The size of the compressed storage objects, defined in the applications assigned to the application group, must be less than or equal to the size of the storage object. Content Manager OnDemand issues an error message if the object size is smaller than the compressed object size of any application that belongs to the application group.
