Updating a storage node

About this task

Note about IBM® i servers: Add, Update, and Delete operations for storage nodes have been disabled on IBM i servers. A storage node is created, updated and deleted as the result of actions performed on the migration policy with the same name in IBM Navigator for i.

Note: The administrative client can be used to view storage nodes that were created during migration from OD/390 V2, OD/390 IAFC, and OD/400 Spool File Archive.

You can use the update command to make changes to a storage node. For example:

  • You define a new primary storage node. You must assign the storage node to a secondary storage node so that Content Manager OnDemand automatically creates a backup copy of data stored in the primary storage node.
  • You move the optical library associated with a storage node to a different object server. You must update the storage node with the name of the new object server.
  • The optical library associated with a storage node is full. You must update the storage node so that Content Manager OnDemand does not attempt to store data in the library.
