Storage set options

Here are available storage set options:

Note about IBM® i servers: Add, Update, and Delete operations for storage sets have been disabled on IBM i servers. A storage set is created, updated, and deleted as the result of actions performed on the migration policy in IBM Navigator for i. The storage set name is the same as the IBM i Common Server Migration Policy name.

Name
The name that identifies the storage set to Content Manager OnDemand.
Description
Type up to 120 bytes of descriptive information about the storage set.
Load Type
Determines where Content Manager OnDemand stores data. Choose from Fixed and Local. You should always set the Load Type to Local on an IBM i server.
Fixed
Content Manager OnDemand stores data in the primary storage node that has the Load Data field selected. When you set Load Type to Fixed, you must select the Load Data check box for one primary storage node. A storage set can contain one or more primary storage nodes that reside on one or more object servers. When you set the Load Type to Fixed, Content Manager OnDemand loads data in one primary storage node, regardless of the number of primary nodes in the storage set.
Local
Content Manager OnDemand stores data in a primary storage node on the server on which the data loading program executes. When you set the Load Type to Local, you must select the Load Data checkbox for one primary storage node on each object server that is identified in the storage set. A storage set can contain one or more primary storage nodes that reside on one or more object servers. When you set the Load Type to Local, Content Manager OnDemand loads data on the server on which the data loading program executes, in the primary storage node that has the Load Data field selected. When you set the Load Type to Local, and the storage set contains primary nodes on different object servers, then you must select the Load Data checkbox for one primary node on each object server.
Storage Nodes
A list of the primary and secondary storage nodes contained in the storage set. Use the add, delete, update, and view commands to maintain storage nodes. Note: The administrative client might be used to view migration storage nodes (OD/390 V2, OD/390 IAFC, and OD/400 Spool File Archived).
Primary Node
Select to add, delete, update, or view a primary storage node. Clear to add, delete, update, or view a secondary storage node.

Note: Content Manager OnDemand no longer supports adding secondary storage nodes when you create a storage set. When updating a storage set, secondary storage nodes can only be created if the storage set already contains one or more secondary storage nodes. If you need to maintain a backup copy of data in archive storage, then IBM recommends that you configure the archive storage manager to do so.
