Changes that you can and cannot make to an existing application group

You can make the following changes to an existing application group:

  • Change the application group name and description
  • Change storage management characteristics, such as the length of time that Content Manager OnDemand maintains imported database tables
  • Change permissions for users and groups
  • Add and remove database and displayed value pairs for database fields
  • Change displayed values for database fields
  • Designate a new or different partition field
  • Add applications to an application group if there are available application identifiers
  • Add database fields

You cannot make the following changes to an existing application group:

  • Change the name of the system log, system migration, system load, and system data distribution application groups
  • Change certain database organization properties
  • Change the expiration type
  • Change the storage set
  • Change the characteristics of a database field, such as the field type or size
  • Change certain data management properties
  • Remove existing database fields
