Selecting a local printer
You can select from a variety of options for printing Content Manager OnDemand documents on a local printer.
About this task
To select a local printer:
Procedure
- Select Print from the File menu, choose the toolbar button, or choose the Print All Selected command button on the Search Criteria and Document List window. The Print window appears.
- Choose the Local button to print on a printer connected to your PC.
- When you print to a local printer, you can specify the margins for the printed page in inches. Content Manager OnDemand sets all the margins at 0.5 inch as the default. If you change the margins, Content Manager OnDemand displays your changes the next time you use the Print window.
-
You can also check one of the choices under Orientation to
change the way that the displayed page is printed:
- Choose Best Fit to have Content Manager OnDemand automatically print the narrow side of the displayed page on the narrow side of the printer paper. Regardless of the way a page is displayed, Content Manager OnDemand adjusts the displayed page so it prints optimally on the paper in the printer you select when Best Fit is selected. Best Fit is the default for Orientation.
- Choose Portrait to print with the page taller than it is wide when you view the printed page upright.
- Choose Landscape to print with the page wider than it is tall when you view the printed page upright.
- Choose Use Printer Setting to print the page with the default printer settings.
- If you want to print to a different printer, choose one from the list of available printers.
- If you want to change the options for the selected printer, choose the Setup... command button. A window for the identified printer appears.
- When you finish changing options for the printer, click OK to close the window for the identified printer and return to the Print window.
-
When you select Local and you want to print the document
that you have selected on the Document List, Content Manager OnDemand prints all the pages
in the document.
When you select Local and you want to print the document you are viewing, you have the choice of printing all the pages in the document by choosing the All button in the Pages section of the Print window, just printing the current page by choosing the Current Pages button, or printing selected pages by choosing the Selected Pages button. When you choose Selected Pages, choose the Select command button, and the Select Pages window appears.
- To close the Print window without printing anything, choose Cancel command button and Content Manager OnDemand returns to the document you are viewing or the Search Criteria and Document List window.
- Choose the Print command button to send the document you are working with to the printer and close the Print window.
