Adding a database field

About this task

  • Type the name of the database field in the Database field name field.
  • Verify the Database field type.
  • Verify the Data Type of the field. See Database field data types for more information.
  • If the database field is a date or date/time field, then decide whether the field is the Segment field for the application group.
  • If the database field is a date or date/time field, then decide whether the field is the Expire Date field for the application group.
  • If you are defining a string field, then verify the Case, Type, and Length of the field.
  • Click OK to save the field information (and the indexing field information) and close the Field window.
