Adding or updating a query
About this task
The Add a Query window allows you to add a public named query to the Queries section of the data distribution file. The Update a Query window allows you to add or remove a query.
Public named queries provide the means to retrieve documents from the library server and add them to the data distribution image. Public named queries are one way to include documents in a data distribution image. A public named query is maintained with the client and stored with a folder. To add a public named query to the data distribution file, identify the folder and click Retrieve to list the named queries stored with the folder. Then select the public named query that you want to add. When you add a public named query to the data distribution file, Content Manager OnDemand automatically adds the folder name to the Folders section.
Here are some options and commands that you can use:
- ID
- An identifier for the public named query. IBM recommends that you use the default provided. To use your own identifier, type an ID in the space provided. The ID must be unique to the data distribution file. After you add a query to the data distribution file, you cannot change the ID.
- Folder Name
- The name of the folder in which the public named query is stored. To add a public named query, first select the folder name from the list of folders defined on the library server. After you add a query to the data distribution file, you cannot change the folder name.
