Unable to initialize PDF document from the OnDemand Client
Symptoms
Trying to view a PDF document from the OnDemand Client results in an "Unable to Initialize Document" or "Failure to Initialize Document" message.Causes
The OnDemand Client was unable to start the Adobe Acrobat Reader. The most common cause of this problem is an incorrect key value in the Windows registry.Resolving the problem
To correct the registry key's value, do the following steps:- Using Notepad, create a .reg file that contains these
lines:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AcroExch.Document\DefaultIcon] @="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Adobe\adobe_reader_version_dir\Reader\\AcroRd32.exe,1"
- Save the .reg file.
- Double-click the .reg file to merge this key into the Windows registry.
- Restart the Content Manager OnDemand Windows client.
