Storage Node window
Note about IBM® i servers: Add, Update, and Delete operations for storage nodes have been disabled on IBM i servers. A storage node is created, updated, and deleted as the result of actions performed in the IBM i Common Server Migration Policy in IBM Navigator for i.
- For an Content Manager OnDemand for z/OS object server:
- Choose from TSM, OAM, and VSAM for the access method. OAM is the default access method for the primary storage node. If you choose OAM, specify the collection name. If you choose VSAM, specify the high level qualifier.
- For an Content Manager OnDemand for Multiplatforms server:
- TSM is the default access method for the primary storage node.
The Storage Node window is where you add and maintain primary and secondary storage nodes for a storage set. Note: The administrative client might be used to view migration storage nodes (OD/390 V2, OD/390 IAFC, and OD/400 Spool File Archive).
A primary storage node is where Content Manager OnDemand manages documents and resources that you store in the application groups that are assigned to the storage set. A secondary storage node is where Content Manager OnDemand can manage a backup copy of data stored in a primary storage node. You typically define a storage node for each optical or tape library on the system.
Note: Content Manager OnDemand no longer supports adding secondary storage nodes when you create a storage set. When updating a storage set, secondary storage nodes can only be created if the storage set already contains one or more secondary storage nodes. If you need to maintain a backup copy of your data in archive storage, then IBM recommends that you configure the archive storage manager to do so.
