Export

Use to export items from one Content Manager OnDemand library server (the source server) and add them to another (the destination server).

To export an item, first select one or more items from the source server. Then select the destination server. Click Export. If you are not logged on to the destination server, the Content Manager OnDemand administrative client opens the Logon to a Server window. Type the userid and password in the spaces provided. Click OK. Content Manager OnDemand administrative client proceeds with the export. Click Stop at any time to stop the export process.

If you export applications to a target server: Make sure that the following conditions are met before you export the applications:
  • You can export an application only to an application group with the same name as the application group that is associated with the application being exported.
  • An application group with the same name as the application group that is associated with the application to be exported must already exist on the target server.
  • The application group on the target server must have the same database fields as the application group that is associated with the application to be exported.
  • The application to be exported does not already exist in the application group on the target server.
  • The application identifier of the application that is exported is not already used by an application in the application group on the target server.
  • If the application identifier of the application that is exported is not already defined in the application group, the Displayed Value and Database Value pair is added to the application group as part of the export process.

The Status area of the Export window lists the items you selected to export and, after completing the export command, the completion status and, optionally, warning messages. Click Details to list additional messages generated by the export command.

If you want Content Manager OnDemand to add an item regardless of any warnings encountered, select the Ignore Warnings checkbox. Otherwise, Content Manager OnDemand stops transferring the item when the first warning is encountered. If the item exists on the destination server, the export fails.

If you do not want Content Manager OnDemand to assign a storage set to the application group, select the No Storage Set checkbox.
