Client user exit defined
Choose this Data Management option if the data stored in the application group is managed independently of Content Manager OnDemand. That is, user-provided programs maintain data stored in the application group, rather than the database and storage management software built into Content Manager OnDemand. For example, you can use Content Manager OnDemand client programs to query files stored in a production imaging system, such as IBM VisualInfo.
When you choose this option, you must provide your own user exit program to interact with the Content Manager OnDemand data management interface and the products that manage the data.
Even though the application group data is maintained outside Content Manager OnDemand, you must provide basic application group information on the General page, specify application group, document, and annotation authorities on the Permissions page, define fields on the Field Definition page, and specify the properties of the fields on the Field Information page.
When you choose this option, Content Manager OnDemand ignores any information that you provide about the database, such as the database organization and the annotation flag, message logging properties, and storage management properties.
