Application group storage management
The Storage Management page is where you specify the information that Content Manager OnDemand uses to maintain application group data and provide the information that Content Manager OnDemand requires to work with the storage manager. The choices that you make determine the length of time that Content Manager OnDemand maintains report data, resources, and index data, whether Content Manager OnDemand copies reports to cache storage, and whether and when Content Manager OnDemand migrates index data and copies report data and resources to archive storage.
- Storage Set Name
- Determines where the storage manager maintains reports and resources
loaded into the application group. The storage manager can maintain
data in cache storage, in archive storage, and in both cache storage
and archive storage. More details.
Important: If the storage set contains cache-only storage nodes, ensure that the Cache Data value and the Life of Data and Indexes value are the same. Otherwise, the add or update operation cannot be completed.
- Cache Data
- Determines whether Content Manager OnDemand stores
data in cache storage, and if so, the length of time that Content Manager OnDemand maintains the data in cache
storage. If you select No for Cache Data, then cache is not
used. If you select Yes for Cache Data, then you can cache
document data and resource data or resource data only.
- Document data
- If you select No Cache, then document data is not stored in cache. If you select Cache Document Data in Cache for __ Days, then document data is stored in cache for the specified number of days before the data expires.
- Resource data
- If you select Always Maintain in Cache, then resource data stays in cache forever, and does not expire. If you select Cache Resource Data in Cache for __ Days, then resource data stays in cache for the specified number of days before the data expires. If you select Restore Resources to Cache, resources are restored to cache from archive media if resource data is not in cache and there is a request for the resource data.
- Search Cache
- If the Search Cache is selected, cache storage is examined to determine if the requested data and resources are located in cache storage. If you select No for Cache Data, you can search cache storage even though data and resources are not currently being stored in cache.
- Life of Data and Indexes
- Determines when Content Manager OnDemand deletes documents, resources, and index data from the application group. More details.
- Expiration Type
- Determines how data is deleted from the application group. See Expiration type for details.
- Advanced
- Use to open the Advanced Storage Management window.
