Accessibility features

The administrative client provides a number of features that make it more accessible for people with disabilities. These features include:
  • The ability to operate all features using the keyboard instead of the mouse.
  • Support for enhanced display properties
  • Compatibility with assistive technologies
  • Compatibility with operating system accessibility features
  • Accessible documentation

Keyboard input and navigation

The administrative client can be operated using only the keyboard. Menu items and controls provide access keys that allow users to activate a control or select a menu item directly from the keyboard. These keys are self-documenting, in that the access keys are underlined on the control or menu where they appear.

Keyboard focus

In Windows-based systems, the position of the keyboard focus is highlighted, indicating which area of the window is active and where the user's keystrokes take effect.

Features for accessible display

The administrative client has a number of features that enhance the user interface and improve accessibility for users with low vision. These enhancements include support for high-contrast settings and customizable font properties.

High-contrast mode
The clients support the high-contrast-mode option that is provided by the operating system. This feature assists users who require a higher degree of contrast between background and foreground colors.
Font settings
In Windows-based systems, you can specify display settings that determine the color, size, and font for the text in menus and dialog windows. The client allows you to select the font for the document list.
Non-dependence on color
You do not need to distinguish between colors in order to use any function of this product.

Compatibility with assistive technologies

The administrative client is compatible with screen reader applications. The client has properties required for these accessibility applications to make onscreen information available to visually impaired users.

Accessible documentation

Online help for the administrative client is available in HTML format. This allows users to view documentation according to the display preferences set in their browsers. It also allows the use of screen readers and other assistive technologies.
