Add Document (File menu)

You can add individual documents from your workstation to a Content Manager OnDemand folder by using the Add Document dialog. The Add Document dialog appears when you select the Add Document command from the File menu when the Search Criteria and Document List window is active.

The Add Document function allows you to perform ad hoc loading of individual documents. For bulk loading, see the ARSLOAD program which runs on the server. Important: No data validation is performed when using this function. The user is responsible for loading data that is correctly formatted for the selected Content Manager OnDemand application.

The Content Manager OnDemand server must be at V9.5 or later to use the Add Document function. Configuration file entries must be added on the Content Manager OnDemand server to enable the Add Document function. Add document permissions are required to access the Add Document dialog, otherwise the option is disabled. Add document permissions are located on the Application Group Permissions tab.

Specify the Application Group name and Application name from the pull-downs. Enter values for any of the folder search fields listed to provide index values for the document. Then type the full path and file name of the document or click the Browse button to locate the document. Click OK to add the document to Content Manager OnDemand.

Attention: Each folder field should be mapped to an application group field. Fields that are not mapped should have a default value assigned to them in the application definition on the Load Information tab. Date fields must be entered by using the ISO format of %Y-%m-%d, such as 2014-11-13. Date/Time fields must be entered by using the %Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S format, such as 2014-11-13 14:07:00. A value cannot be entered for special folder field types such as Segment and Text Search, so folder fields of those types are disabled in the Add Document dialog.
