Disk pool storage groups

The disk pool storage group is used to identify an IBM® i auxiliary storage pool (ASP) that the archived storage management process can use as storage media when migrating archived data. You can specify a pool number ranging from 1 to 32 which corresponds to an existing ASP. You can also specify pool numbers ranging from 33 to 255 which correspond to an existing Independent ASP. The type of data, primary or backup, that will be stored to the defined ASP must also be specified.

You can also use a mounted Network File System (NFS) exported directory as a disk pool. See Using a Network File System (NFS) directory for document storage for detailed setup instructions.
