Migration Flow
IBM Live Migration Service enables customer to follow 5 simple steps to perform the migration of workloads. Before the Migration , there are important pre-requisites to be completed. They are:
- Creating the credentials for the cloud (Refer steps furnished for each cloud).
- Network connectivity between the source and target cloud platform.

Now Lets talk about the 5 easy steps of migration
- Create project
- Create project in the IBM live migration service by selecting the target cloud, License details.
- Configure the credentials of the cloud platform.
- Configure the replication settings of the project.
- Add Machine
- Install the agent by following the instructions in the add machine.
- Review the replication of the server until We see continuous replication for that source machine.
- Configure Blueprint
- Blueprint is the menu to configure the machine details of the target machine which will be launched for the source machine.
- It would include details like Instance, Subnet, Security groups, etc.,
- Test Mode
- The Test Mode action launches a Target machine in the Target infrastructure.
- The Test Mode action can be performed after the Initial Sync stage has been completed.
- Cut-over Mode
- Once you have completed all of your testing and ready to fully transition your machines to the Target cloud, you should perform the Cutover Mode action.
- Every time you perform the Cut-over mode action , IBM live migration service deletes the previously launched target machine and creates a new machine that is up to date.
