The transformational journey to IBM Cloud Paks
IBM Cloud® Paks are pre-integrated containerized software built on Red Hat® OpenShift® that are designed to help you develop and use cloud services anywhere and from any cloud. You can modernize with ease and make your data work for you, wherever you are. With IBM Cloud Paks, you can quickly consume and manage all deployments with a governed, protected, and unified platform that delivers consistency across software tools and is continuously available, from the data center all the way to the edge.
You can transform your operations when you migrate your existing applications and infrastructure and take advantage of IBM Cloud Paks running on Red Hat OpenShift. With this transformation, you gain extra capabilities that are faster, agile, and cloud-native. As part of this transformation, you migrate workloads and modernize to take advantage of the new features included in the Cloud Paks.
To guide you along the transformation journey, there are five main phases.
- Assess your readiness: At the start of your transformation journey, assess your current readiness for adopting an IBM Cloud Pak.
- Prepare for migration: After you have accessed your readiness, you can now prepare for the migration.
- Install and configure the IBM Cloud Pak: Follow the documentation to install and configure the IBM Cloud Pak based on your use cases.
- Migrate: After you have installed and configured the IBM Cloud Pak, you can start moving your applications, infrastructure, and data over to the new containerized environment.
- Modernize: After you have migrated, you can start taking advantage of the new capabilities that are included in the IBM Cloud Pak. Modernization includes the process of updating and improving the architecture of your previous environment.
