Can I create a report or widget with monthly columns of data in a table?

In Cloudability Reports, time periods (such as months) are presented as rows, not columns. You cannot create reports or widgets with months as columns. However, Apptio BIdoes support this feature. Apptio BI is an application that provides reporting and information sharing capabilities across Apptio products. If you don't already have access, contact your administrator for assistance.

My colleague shared a dashboard with me. Why does it look different for me than when they look at it?

When a user shares a dashboard with another user in Cloudability, it may look different because you are each viewing the dashboard through different Cloudability Views. To ensure your recipients see the same data when you share a dashboard, choose the Share button. In the Dashboard Sharing drawer, check the Include Current View checkbox. This appends the URL with the View used on the dashboard. Choose the Copy button to copy the URL, then send it to your colleague.

Can I create a widget showing EBS Snapshot costs?

Yes. We recommend using Apptio BI. If you don't have access to Apptio BI, contact your administrator for assistance. To see this data, go Apptio BI, navigate to the AWS | Resource Optimization report and view the EBS | Rightsizing page.

Can I create a report for data within a bucket?

Cloudability does not have access to the data within any resource, including S3 buckets, RDS, or other services.

Can I build a time zone-specific report showing instances running in different time zone?

You can create a report in Cloudability or Apptio BI using the Region or Availability Zone dimension to display where the instance is deployed. This lets you to view the instance across different time zones.

What does the star icon in Cloudability mean?

The star icon represents a "favorite."

  • On the My Dashboard page, you can favorite any dashboard in the All Dashboards list. Favorited dashboards appear as shortcuts when you hover over the Dashboards button.

  • On the Reports page, only the report owner can favorite a report. If you want to favorite a report, you can create a new one or duplicate an existing report you do not own. Favorites reports appear when you choose the Starred filter button.
