Apptio BI available in Cloudability
Overview
Apptio BI has traditionally functioned as a complementary solution alongside existing Apptio reporting engines, requiring you to switch between products to access reports and features. To address this, the full-featured Apptio BI is integrated with Cloudability , eliminating the need for navigating between multiple applications. You can access all your Apptio BI reports, including reports based on common FinOps use cases, innovative features, and analyze all data sources directly within Cloudability. This is especially advantageous for customers using multiple products, such as Apptio Costing and Planning, as users can analyze not only cloud billing data but also third party spend, labor, on-prem infrastructure spend, IT budgets and forecasts, and more within Cloudability.

Full-Featured Apptio BI : All Apptio BI capabilities, including reports and Insights, are accessible within Cloudability , offering an identical experience to accessing Apptio BI through Access Administration or Application Launcher. Any changes made in the standalone Apptio BI , or the integrated version persist seamlessly across both versions. Rest assured that while we introduce this capability, all your existing Cloudability features will remain unchanged. You can continue leveraging the familiar tools and functionalities that you are accustomed to.

Home Page: Upon logging in, your default Cloudability My Dashboard is displayed.
-
Shared Cloudability View : Your selections in the Cloudability View persist in Apptio BI , ensuring consistency. For example, if you switch to the "AG: Amazon” View in Cloudability , subsequent Apptio BI reports will be filtered accordingly. The same applies when you change the View in Apptio BI ; it reflects in Cloudability. The View picker offers the same selections in both applications, based on your access permissions, eliminating confusion and mismatched Views.
Note:The Cloudability View exclusively pertains to data originating from Cloudability. Consequently, visualizations in Apptio BI that include data from sources beyond Cloudability , such as Costing & Planning - Cost, will remain unfiltered by the Cloudability View.
-
Shared Global Header: Information, general settings, and profile settings remain consistent throughout both Apptio BI and Cloudability. You will find familiar elements, such as Data Source Management and Multi-Currency Configuration, regardless of the feature you are using. The unified global header enables quick access to settings, profile, and commonly used features within both Apptio BI and Cloudability , reducing the need to mentally switch contexts.
- Caching: When navigating between Apptio BI and Cloudability pages, frequently accessed data is stored in a temporary memory storage called a cache. This caching ensures up-to-date information, resulting in a smoother and more efficient experience.
- No-Refreshing: Navigating between Apptio BI and Cloudability pages incurs minimal page reloads, enabling smooth transitions and reducing load times. This consistency allows you to retain context, interactions, and input across different pages, creating a more responsive, efficient, and friendly environment.
