Introduction to Cloudability MSP and Commercial Billing
You can use Cloudability MSP and Commercial Billing to manage and optimize costs across all your end consumers’ (as well as your own internal) spend. The Org Structure Service enables you to assign accounts to your end consumers as well as provision end consumer environments. You can use Management Org Billing's Pricing feature to apply markups and discounts to your end consumer costs by leveraging price books. You can make additional changes to the costs and dimensions your end consumers see in the Management Org Billing Settings page. You also have the ability to strip select line-item discounts from your end consumer reporting.
The following terminology will be used across Cloudability MSP and Commercial Billing documentation:
- Management Organization or Management Org refers to the organization who purchases and administrates Cloudability MSP or Commercial Billing. They may be a separate organization from end consumers, such as a Managed Service Provider, or a business unit within a large enterprise who is tasked with federating and charging back other business units' cloud costs (like a Cloud Center of Excellence or a Cloud Procurement Team).
- End Consumers of a management org might be separate organizations (e.g., external customers) or business units/subsidiaries within the same large enterprise.
