Cloudability Custom Discounts and Enterprise Discount Programs (EDP) in Cloudability

Cloudability supports custom discounts and Enterprise Discount Programs (EDP) from the Cloud Service Provider (CSP) such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI. These custom discounts and pricing adjustments are reflected in several capabilities, including Reporting and Cost Analysis, Rightsizing, Commitments, and Workload Planning. For AWS and GCP, some setup is required to ensure your discounts are accurately reflected in these capabilities.

In regard to reporting capabilities, Cloudability has two Cost Metrics which take the custom pricing into consideration: Cost (Adjusted) and Cost (Adjusted Amortized). Cost (Adjusted) metric is built from the Cost (Total) metric and Cost (Adjusted Amortized) metric is built from the Cost (Amortized) metric. These metrics adjust the figures to allow for any custom pricing rules and only appears for Cloudability customers who have turned on the custom pricing module.

Under the Rightsizing feature, you have the option to use either On-Demand Cost or Effective Cost basis. If your organization has enabled custom pricing in Cloudability , the relevant custom rates will be applied to the cost basis calculations. Both Effective and On-demand cost basis calculations use custom/EDP pricing.

The Workload Planning feature supports custom pricing by default. If organizations don’t have any agreement with a specific vendor, then Workload Planning defaults to 'retail' pricing.
