Networks

Network management is facilitated by using Calico networks.

Calico is built on the third layer, also known as layer 3 or the network layer, of the Open System Interconnection (OSI) model. Calico uses the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) to build routing tables that facilitate communication among agent nodes. Through the use of this protocol, Calico networks offer better performance and network isolation.

With Calico, you can better control ingress traffic. Calico can be used to regulate ingress traffic access to a workload, or set rules that restrict ingress traffic to a pod.

From the IBM® Cloud Private cluster management console, you can now deny or allow ingress traffic to specific workloads. You can also set network policy rules that limits access among pods.
