Version compatibility

In general, any applet or application that ran with a previous version of the SDK should run correctly with this release. Classes that are compiled with this release are not guaranteed to work on previous releases.

The following exceptions apply to applications written and compiled under earlier releases of the SDK:

The underlying operating system or hardware introduces a change that requires the application to be recompiled.
The application has added a method name that clashes with the name of a new method, introduced in this release.
The application uses an API that was deprecated before this release, and that API is now removed.

The 32-bit Windows edition of IBM® SDK, Java™ Technology Edition is built with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003.
