Uninstalling IBM CICS TS Operator from Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform

This uninstall procedure does not remove the mappings between the CICS TS Operator Collection from the z/OS® endpoints, nor remove the collection from z/OS Cloud Broker; but does uninstall the instance of CICS TS Operator that you are using in Red Hat® OpenShift® Container Platform.

About this task

You do not have to delete the CICS TS instances (CICSTSRegion resources) provisioned through the CICS TS Operator instance before you uninstall the operator. However, when the CICS TS Operator instance is removed, you cannot see the CICSTSRegion resources in Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform any more. The CICS TS regions are still running in the z/OS environments.

When you re-install CICS TS Operator, mapping it to the z/OS endpoints, these CICSTSRegion resources are inherited by the newly-installed CICS TS Operator instance.

Procedure

  1. Using the Administrator perspective of the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform web console, navigate to Operators > Installed Operators.
  2. Locate the instance of CICS TS Operator that you want to remove from your project.
  3. To uninstall this CICS TS Operator instance, take one of the following actions:
    • Select the three dots at the end of the CICS TS Operator row, and then select Uninstall Operator from the context menu.
    • Click CICS TS Operator to open the Details page. At upper right of the page, click the Actions drop-down list and select Uninstall Operator.

Results

CICS TS Operator is removed from the Installed Operators page in Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform.

Note: This uninstall procedure affects only Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. It does not change the CICS TS Operator Collection configuration in z/OS Cloud Broker. This means that z/OS Cloud Broker cannot reflect the removal of the CICS TS Operator instance from Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform.

If you want to restore the CICS TS Operator instance to Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, you must delete the CICS TS Operator Collection configuration and then re-configure its mapping to the z/OS endpoint by using the z/OS Cloud Broker user interface.
