Accessing Case Management and Orchestration & Automation

IBM Security Case Management is freely available without an additional licence. If you have a licence for the IBM® Security QRadar SOAR, you can use the complete automation and orchestration capabilities.

IBM Security QRadar SOAR comprises Case Management and Orchestration & Automation applications. All users have access to Case Management by default. The platform administrator assigns access to the Orchestration & Automation application, as required. Where a user is granted access to Orchestration & Automation, that access supersedes access granted to Case Management.

In addition to the access granted to users from the platform, roles assigned from IBM Security QRadar SOAR determine the permissions the user has to access specific features within the Case Management and Orchestration & Automation applications. A IBM Security QRadar SOAR role is a specific set of permissions, which SOAR administrators can assign to users and groups. The Roles tab on the Administrator Settings screen enables you to define and manage roles.

To access and use Orchestration & Automation, your organization must have a license for Orchestration & Automation and this license must be installed. This is described in the postinstallation section of the platform documentation.
