Accounts

An account comprises users and their permissions for specific applications within the IBM Security QRadar Suitedeployment. When you are logged into the application, you are logged into a specific account, and you can view cases and tasks for the account to which you are currently logged in. Roles, permissions, and members are specific to the account to which you are logged in.

If you are a member of more than one account, you can switch between accounts. To switch to a different account, click the icon beside your user name and select a different account, if one exists. This takes you to the Homepage of the account you selected. In the example in the following demo, the user switches to a different account and is taken to the Homepage of the newly selected account. They can then navigate to the list of cases, which are specific to this account.
Note: The navigation menu has been updated since this demonstration was recorded.

The surrounding text describes this demo, which is an example of the user interface.

The cases list, collaborators, workspaces, and roles and permissions change to reflect the content of the account to which you are now logged in. If you have permission, you can also view the account name and ID by going to Menu > General settings > Account management.

The incident sequence code is different for each account. In addition, customizations and administrative settings, such as workspaces, might also be different, depending on how they were configured. This means that you might have different roles and permissions in different accounts and that the actions that you can take might be different in different accounts, depending on how the orchestration and automaton is configured.

If you are using Data Explorer or other IBM Security QRadar Suite applications, cases created from those applications are created in the account from which you run the Data Explorer scans.
