Scheduling tasks

You can set a regular schedule to automatically run jobs for importing threat events into IBM® Security Risk Manager and running the risk engine at the intervals you define.

Before you begin

Ensure that you created and configured data source connections for your connectors to import threat data through the Universal Data Insights service. For more information about data source connections, see Asset and data source connections.

About this task

In the basic version of Risk Manager, scheduled jobs run based on the default settings. You can create scheduled jobs to run the following tasks.

Importing events

Create a scheduled job to import threat events from the configured connections to Risk Manager for risk evaluation.

Running risk engine

Create a scheduled job to run the risk engine at the specified time for the active risk profile.

1. On the home page, click the Menu icon.
2. In the Application settings section, click Risk Manager > Risk configuration.
3. On the Risk configuration page, click Schedule jobs.
4. In the Schedule jobs window, select an appropriate frequency from the Frequency list for each job that you want to schedule.
5. Click Save changes.

Results

After the schedules are defined, you can view the following information on the Schedule jobs window.

• Frequency at which the scheduled job runs.
• Date and time of the next occurrence of the schedule, obtained based on the defined frequency.
