Creating a Provider account

The IBM Security QRadar Suite administrator must create a Provider account for the SOAR MSSP deployment. The Provider account provides the configuration for the Standard accounts in the SOAR MSSP deployment and also has a dashboard that shows cases from multiple customers.

Before you begin

You must have IBM Security QRadar Suite platform Account configuration Admin permission and Accounts management Admin permissions for the System Administration account to create the Provider account.

About this task

A SOAR MSSP deployment consists of one Provider account and multiple Standard accounts. The Standard accounts are created from and managed by the Provider account.

To set up a SOAR MSSP deployment, you must create the Provider account first and then create the Standard accounts from the Provider account.

1. From the IBM Security QRadar Suite platform, go to the System Administration account and click Account Management.
2. Click Create account and complete the Create account dialog as follows:
   1. Enter a unique name for the account.
   2. Enter a description.
   3. Select an identity provider.
   4. Click the Provider account type.
   5. Click Create account.
3. Click Refresh and go to the Provider account when it is created.

Results

It takes a little time for the Provider account to be created. You receive a system notification in the Provider account when the account is ready to use, as shown in the following graphic.
