Deleting a VPC or VNet

Delete a VPC or VNet when you are finished with it.

Before you begin

You can delete VPCs or VNets only if the following conditions are met:
  • The adoption status contains one of these values:
    • Configured
    • Create Failed
    • Delete Failed
  • For a gateway (that is, primary) VPC or VNet, the workload (that is, secondary) VPC or VNet that it is associated with is deleted first.
  • (AWS only) No connection exists between the VPC and a VPC in another region.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Wired portal.
  2. Click the cloud account that contains the VPC or VNet that you want to delete.
  3. Click Trash icon in the Actions column for the VPC or VNet that you want to delete.

Results

When you delete a VPC or VNet, the following changes occur:
  • The adoption status changes to Delete in progress.
  • The resources for the VPC or VNet are deleted from the cloud account.
  • The assemblies of the VPC or VNet are uninstalled.
  • The VPC or VNet data, including virtual machines, clusters, subnets, and the VPC or VNet itself are deleted from Site Planner.
