Limitations
- You cannot upgrade from version 2.6.5 to version 2.7.0. Instead, you must migrate your
orchestration data from the 2.6.5 instance to the 2.7.0 instance. For more information, see Migrating from 2.6.5 to 2.7.0.
- You can upgrade only to the next version in sequence. For example, if your current version is
2.7.4, you cannot upgrade directly to 2.7.6. First upgrade to 2.7.5 and
then upgrade to 2.7.6. For
more information about supported upgrading paths for earlier versions of IBM Cloud Pak for Network
Automation, see the documentation for those
versions. Click the version that you require from Change
version.
- You cannot upgrade from a 2.1.x release to version 2.2.0 or later. For example, you cannot
upgrade from 2.1.1 to 2.2.3. If you are on a 2.1.x release and want to move to a 2.2.x release, you
must first uninstall the 2.1.x deployment. Then, complete a fresh 2.2.x installation.
Assignment of objects during upgrade to 2.6.0
If you are upgrading to
IBM Cloud Pak for Network
Automation 2.6.0, your objects are assigned to
object groups automatically. The following table describes what happens, in different multitenancy
contexts:
Mode |
Assignment of objects |
Single tenant mode |
A default group is created for the whole system and all objects are assigned to that group
during the upgrade. |
Multitenancy mode |
A default group is created for each tenant and the objects in each tenant are assigned to
the appropriate group during the upgrade. |
From multitenancy mode to single tenant mode |
Move all objects to the single tenant before you upgrade. |
