Assigning user groups to tenants

A network automation tenant administrator can assign user groups to network automation tenants. By assigning user groups, the tenant administrator can decide which data the network automation users can access.

About this task

You can assign one or more user groups to a tenant. A user group can be assigned to only a single tenant.

Restriction: Don’t assign a user to multiple user groups if the user groups are assigned to different tenants.

For more information about how to create user groups, see Mapping users to LDAP roles and groups.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the IBM Cloud Pak® console. For more information about how to log in, see Logging in to the IBM Cloud Pak console.
  2. From the navigation menu Navigation menu icon, click Define > Network automation tenants.
  3. Click the name of the tenant that you want to assign user groups to, then click Next.
  4. Select one or more user groups that you want to assign to the tenant, then click Next.
  5. Review the summary of the tenant details, then click Update.

Results

The user groups are assigned to the tenant. When members of the user group log in, they can access only the data that is created by users in their group.
