Assigning security groups to Wired tenants

You can assign security groups to Wired tenants in the Site Planner UI. By assigning these groups, you decide which data the Wired portal users can access. You assign only one security group to each tenant.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the IBM Cloud Pak® console. For login steps, see Logging in to the IBM Cloud Pak console.
  2. From the navigation menu, click Define > Infrastructure Devices.
  3. In the Site Planner UI, click Organization > TENANCY > Tenants.
  4. In the tenant list, click the tenant that you want to assign a security group to. The tenant details are shown.
  5. Assign only one security group to the tenant.
    1. In the Security Groups tile, if a group is present, click the edit icon. Otherwise, click Add a security group. The security group assignment page is shown.
    2. In the Security group key field, enter the key, that is, the name, of the user attribute in your identity provider configuration that is used to store each user’s security groups. For example, if your identity provider is IBM w3id, and the blueGroups user attribute is used to store security groups, enter blueGroups.
    3. In the Security group value field, enter the name of a security group that you configured in your identity provider for Wired user access.
    4. If you are adding a security group, click Create. Otherwise, click Save.

Results

The security group is assigned to the tenant. When Wired users that belong to the security group log in to the portal, they can access only the data that is created by users in their security group.
