Upgrading to Fix Pack 6

For {{site.data.keyword.mcm}} Fix Pack 6, the following upgrading scenarios are supported:

• If your {{site.data.keyword.ocp_notm}} version is 4.8, {{site.data.keyword.cs}} (previously called Common services) version is 3.14.x, {{site.data.keyword.product_rhacm}} version is 2.3, and {{site.data.keyword.mcm}} version is 2.3 Fixpack 1, 2, 3 or 4, you are recommended to upgrade all the services to the later available versions as follows. For upgrading steps, see Upgrading to Fix Pack 6 - scenario 1.

  Notes:

  • Infrastructure Management, Notary, Image Security Enforcement, and Manage Runtime are not supported in {{site.data.keyword.mcm}} Fix Pack 6. But the MCM Core button is still showed in the Installation instance. In addition, the installation YAML still shows the operators of Infrastructure Management, Notary, Image Security Enforcement, and Manage Runtime. You can ignore these configurations.

    

    

    

  • If your {{site.data.keyword.ocp_notm}} version is 4.6 or earlier versions, you must upgrade to at least 4.8. See Supported OpenShift versions and platforms.

  • If your {{site.data.keyword.product_rhacm}} version is 2.2 or earlier versions, you must upgrade to at least 2.3. See Supported {{site.data.keyword.product_rhacm_short}} versions.

  • If your {{site.data.keyword.cs}} version is 3.12 or earlier versions, you must upgrade to at least 3.14. See Supported {{site.data.keyword.cs}} versions.

  • Before and after you upgrade {{site.data.keyword.mcm}} to Fix Pack 6, check and delete the jobs with 0 completions in the management-monitoring namespace. If not, sometimes you might find that the monitoring-metricprovider deployment is not updated so it has the same image as Fix Pack 4.
