Managing Data Objects from the user interface
Shared parameters allow you to create reusable Data Objects. You can create, edit, and delete Data Objects from the Shared Parameters section of the user interface.
Create Data Objects
- Go to Settings > Shared parameters.
- In the Data objects section, click Create data object.
-
In the Create data object page, select or enter the following values:
-
Select the Data Type from the drop-down list.
Note: Whenever you use the selected Data Type, ensure that the value of Data Object is not empty.
- In Select a namespace > Assign access section, select either of the following values based on your requirement:
- Make data object globally accessible (available to all users) - Data objects created globally are accessible by all users.
- Make data object part of a namespace - Associate the data object with a specific namespace. For this option, you must select a Namespace from the drop-down list to which the data object must be assigned. The namespace on the Shared parameters page is preselected. You can modify it, if needed.
-
Enter a unique name for the Data Object. It is must be unique within the selected Data Type. If you do not enter an unique name or enter a character outside the permissible range, then an error message appears.
Note: The Data object name must begin with an alphabet and must have a combination of only these characters: [a-zA-Z][a-zA-Z0-9_-]
- In the Attributes section, enter a value for all the attributes. The attributes depend on the selected datatype.
-
- Click Create.
Edit Data Objects
You can only edit the description and attribute values.
-
