Backing up and restoring Monitoring services

This section provides instructions for backing up and restoring the persistent data stores used in Monitoring.

Notes:

1. Kafka data is transient and does not need to be backed up.

2. The Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes observability service is used to store the Monitoring metric data. Backing up and restoring the service is optional. If you choose not to back up the service, metrics that were stored prior to a restoration will not be available on the Infrastructure monitoring page on IBM Cloud Pak console.
