Chapter 2. Supported Browsers
The following table outlines the browsers that are supported for viewing the Infrastructure Management web user interface.
Browser support is divided into tiers:
-
Tier 1: Browser and operating system combinations that are fully tested and fully supported. IBM is committed to fixing issues with browsers on this tier.
-
Tier 2: Browser and operating system combinations that are partially tested, and are likely to work. Limited support is provided for this tier. IBM attempts to fix issues with browsers on this tier.
-
Tier 3: Browser and operating system combinations that are not tested, but might work. Minimal support is provided for this tier. IBM attempts to fix only minor issues with browsers on this tier.
Table 2.1. Supported Browsers

[a] As the pace of change in public cloud features is high, constantly changing and evolving, the compatibility for Infrastructure Management is as of the time of the GA of the product. Best effort basis during errata cycle for public cloud vendor introduced breaking changes (intended or unintended) to existing functionality. Any other changes or additions would be considered as a Request For Enhancement (RFE) which is evaluated for potential inclusion in future releases. RFE can be requested by way of your standard support mechanisms.
[b] See Red Hat OpenStack Platform Life Cycle for product lifecycle information.
[c] See Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Life Cycle for product lifecycle information.
Note: There is a known race condition while installing Infrastructure management on Power systems running OCP 4.10. If the system is slow, then the application may not install. We are working on a workaround for this condition at this time.
Chapter 4. Provisioning Support
Table 4.1. Supported Providers
Provider support is divided into tiers:
- Tier 1: These providers are developed, tested, and maintained by IBM so we are able to provide full support in terms of promptly fixing tickets and releasing new versions of the providers. We are also fully equipped to take on RFEs and provide enhancements to these providers.
- Tier 2: These providers are delivered by an IBM partner. IBM accepts support and enhancement requests, but all support and enhancements updates are provided by the partner.
- Tier 3: These providers are delivered by various sources into the ManageIQ open source community. IBM packages and ships these providers and accepts support cases. Since IBM doesn't own the code, all support and enhancement updates need to come from the community.
Support tier | Provider |
---|---|
Tier 1 | Amazon, Amazon EKS, Azure, OpenStack, VMware vCenter, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud, Oracle Cloud, Ansible Tower, OpenShift, RHEV, and Satellite |
Tier 2 | IBM SDE Storage Automation |
Tier 3 | Microsoft System Center VMM (Hyper-V), OpenStack Platform Director, Azure Stack, Redfish, Nuage Network Manager, VMware vCloud, VMware NSX-t, Lenovo XClarity, and Kubernetes |

Chapter 5. Feature Support
Infrastructure management allows you to perform actions on the providers that it manages, and provides features for interacting with and providing information about those providers. This section outlines the status of support for actions that you can perform on providers, and the Infrastructure management features that allow you to interact with those providers.
Note: You can run a rake command to retrieve a list of provider features supported across all platforms. Run the following command in your Infrastructure management appliance to retrieve the supported features in a comma-separated values (.csv) file format. The comma-separated values are displayed on the command-line interface (CLI) by default. You can use a pipe to redirect the output to a file.

Chapter 6. Remote Console Support
Infrastructure management allows you to access the console of virtual machines and instances on the providers it managers using HTML5-based VNC consoles. This section outlines the status of support for remote consoles in Infrastructure management.
Note: For VMware vSphere providers, Infrastructure management supports the versions of VMRC that VMware supports. However, VMware does not support VMRC for Mac operating systems. See VMware VMRC documentation for more information.
For all other providers, Infrastructure management supports HTML5-based VNC consoles. The following have been tested with Infrastructure Management Engine:
- Windows: UltraVNC 1.1.8.8 - http://www.uvnc.com/
- Linux/Mac: SSVNC 1.0.29 - At the time of this writing, this is the only client that supports the VNC repeater configuration.
Note: As of 1 September 2015, new versions of Chrome no longer support VMRC consoles. VMRC requires NPAPI plug-in support. Chrome removed support for NPAPI plug-ins in version 45.0.2454, which was released on this date.

Chapter 8. Smart State Analysis Support
Infrastructure management allows you to analyze virtual machines and instances on the providers it manages to collect information about the base operating system on those virtual machines or instances, their virtual hardware, installed applications, and other details. This operation is known as SmartState analysis. This section outlines the status of support for SmartState analysis of virtual machines and instances by guest operating system, file system, and by provider.
