Option 1: Connect to Unified Agent for data collection
This option is strongly recommended. In this option, you can connect your runtime data collectors to Unified Agent through LWDC plug-in and OpenTracing plug-in. Then you can view the monitoring data in IBM Cloud Pak console.
Prerequisites
-
When you deploy runtime data collectors in Kubernetes environments, make sure the Unified Agent is successfully enabled. Runtime data collectors can connect the the Unified Agent through LWDC plug-in and OpenTracing plug-in. For more information, see Deploying Unified Agent in Kubernetes environments.
-
When you deploy runtime data collectors in on-premises environments, make sure you install the Unified Agent LWDC plug-in and OpenTracing plug-in by running the Unified Agent installer. Then you can configure the environment variables of the runtime data collectors to connect to the Unified Agent. For more information, see Deploying Unified Agent in on-premises environments.
